Full Day in the Saint Emilion region
Visit of St Emilion region, 40 km in the North-East of Bordeaux. Discover the famous wine of Saint-Emilion, which is considered by many international connoisseurs as the best wine in the world. One of the greatest wines, Chateau Petrus in the Pomerol is just 500 meters north of the St Emilion appellation.
Visit the fortified city of Saint Emilion. It is a historical treasure, that holds many medieval monuments: the Hermitage, the unique Monolithic Church and its bell tower, the Catacombs, the Collegiate Church, the chapels, the cloisters, the ruins of a number of monastic buildings, the fortified town walls, the tower at Chateau du Roy (the King's Castle), the one-time underground stone quarries and the wine cellars into which they have been partly converted.
You will be charmed by St Emilion. It is small, very quaint and typical (no industrial zone surrounding it) with some of the best grapes of the region growing along the edge of the city. There are also many great little wine bars where you can have good meal and sample by the glass some of the best wines.
